Our school

I watched about 30 films this year already. Fortunately most of them are good for me. One movie that I wept to see among them is "Our School". and I could not stand up after showing.
Our school is the documentary film about 3rd, 4th generation Korean residents of Japan who students of CHOSEN elementary, middle and high school in Hokkaido, Japan. Why this film is strange is many Korean in South Korea do not know about such a school. Even if know, they don't know what the students learn about, how the students live in the school. Why?? Because this school is financailly supported by North Korea. And ideologically north and south is still separated.
This movie just follows the students through one year.(actually took 3 years). And we can see what is like to live in Japan as korean-Japanese. A student says that "Korean in Korea dont need to think over their identities. because they live in Korea. But we're different from them. Unless we do speak Korean, put on the traditional costume, We come not to know who we are.
Besides this film gives us the solutions of an curiosity about them. For example, I saw that all of korean-japanese students fight against mobs of Japanese.(they are threatening now too) in many movies. but I dont know why they had to fight. I thought thats unmanly, irrational. After seeing this films I kew I was wrong.
Millions of Korean-Japanese are still treated unfairly, threatened by Japanese Government and people in the extreme right.

today news said 43,854 people saw this film until yesterday. Over 60% theater Spiderman 3 is showing nowadays and a number of people see Spiderman everyday. 43,854 is small number as compared to Spiderman. But it will be a great number for the students in Our School. If you see this movie, you would know why Our school not my school.
