saw 3 of Howard Hawks

I was in Filmforum last saturday for Howard Hawks' retrospectives and saw 3 of them,
Sergent York, Rio Lobo and Gentlemen prefer blondes.
I have seen his another film, Big sleep starred by Humphrey Bogart, long time ago, after that I really like him. He did never care who is the criminal, but the processes of investigations. The shapes that scenes make is very interesting. Hawks himself also told a plot is not important in the film. Indeed, His films are out of Hollywood styling and editing.(for example, when someone meet, we can see the cuts, master shot, two-shot, one-shot(a man), and one shot(another man) in order.

Rio Lobo and Sergent York are also interesting for me, because of the differences of the other comtemporary films. but I dont know why. I couldnt agree something on the films. It may be relative with my political beliefe, a politically rightness, something like that. In western Its impossible to find african-american, and finally killing in war is acceptable because of buddies in arm.
Dispite of those, all are very fun. His films are not bored and annoyed.
